We all have our “go-to” playlists for when we need to get things done or that movie we watch over and over again because it just brings us so much joy. Some of us even have a site we always land on for creative inspiration or new ideas. Your Creative Curations if you will.

So here is our list of creative curations, the best places we have found inspiration when we just need to finish those projects or when we need a good laugh.

Our favorites (books, music, TV Shows, podcasts, movies, influencers, etc.) for October 2024.

October's best Music

We love listening to music and, of course, we all have different preferences so here are 3 of our most favorite songs/artists this month.

  • Forever by Mystery Skulls: “The artist hired animators to create a whole story around the album and some of the songs. It's like its own little world with its own characters.”- JBJ from our Marketing Team
  • Ascension by Billionaire: “If you're a fan of progressive rock and you like to just put on an album to listen through all the way, this one is for you. It has a good mix of powerful songs and softer melodic ones to take you on an inspirational journey.”- Mike O. from our Marketing Team
  • She Checks The Weather by Johnnyswim: “The songwriting is beautiful. It makes sense. Some of us might identify with each word. The story behind the song is inspiring. And like anything Johnnyswim, the sound is refreshing and soul-filling.”- Sarah P. from our Marketing Team

October's Best Books

  • Mind Shift by Erwin McManus: Mental toughness, mental clarity, and mental health all have one thing in common: The journey begins in your mind.
  • All Marketers (are liars) tell stories by Seth Godin: Like anything that Seth Godin has written, this is a very practical explanation of How Marketing Really Works–and Why Authenticity Is the Best Marketing of All. This book is a good read for everyone, even if you don't have the official “Marketer” title.
  • Everything sad is untrue by Daniel Nayeri: “A mesmerizing blend of memoir and folklore that weaves the his immigrant experience into a tapestry of Persian history, offering readers a poignant, often humorous, and deeply human exploration of identity, family, and the power of storytelling.”- Caleb C. from the BDOW Team.

October's Best Podcasts

Creative Curations
  • The Esau McCaulley Podcast: This podcast just released this month but we are enjoying it! It's kind of a pop culture/current events with a bit of politics but not too much mash-up.
  • The Simple Path to Wealth: Lots of leadership, business development, personal growth, but also a lot of travel advice and general advice on optimizing your life.
  • The Coffee Break Italian Show: There is a series of podcasts called “Coffee Break” and they teach you how to speak a new language in a very easy but successful format. They have multiple languages you can choose from.

October's Best Movies/TV Shows

  • Shōgun on Disney+ /FX: Set in the 17th Century, the story is told from the perspective of British hero John Blackthorne, a sailor who rises from outsider to samurai, while being used as a pawn in Japanese leader Toranaga's struggle to reach the top of the ruling chain, or Shogun.
  • Dark Matter on Apple TV: A multi-universe kind of a show. Interesting enough to keep you engaged.- Kat R. from our Marketing team
  • In and out 2 on Disney+: Cute, fun, awesome storyline. This sequel features Riley entering puberty and experiencing brand new, more complex emotions as a result. As Riley tries to adapt to her teenage years, her old emotions try to adapt to the possibility of being replaced.- Sarah's children
