Before the sun has painted the sky with vivid colors, excited Showit United attendees fill the lobby of the resort. Even though it's 5 AM the excitement and energy of the group is unmistakable. Laughter and joy echo through the hallways as each photographer is excited to learn what's in store for them. One of the most anticipated experiences of United is the opportunity to go to beautiful locations, learn from some of the best photographers in the industry and do something many photographers rarely get the opportunity to do : shoot for themselves.

What are Styled Shoots?

United styled shoots are carefully planned each year. Their goal: to bring photographers together and give each one a unique experience to learn, build their portfolio and expand their creativity. A styled shoot is a shoot that is directed around a particular theme, styled with props and details that all coordinate together for one big ball of beautiful.

How are Styled Shoots Coordinated for United?

Our styled shoot leaders have spent time dreaming up big inspirations for their shoots and we at Showit are doing everything in our power to make sure those dreams come true even down to the flatware. There's a lot of time and preparation and a huge team of individuals that go in to making each shoot happen from hair and makeup artists, florists and designers to our own volunteers tirelessly steaming dresses in the styled shoot prep room.

Why Should I Sign Up for a Styled Shoot?

First and foremost, because they are a TON of fun! During United, this is your time to break out of the classroom and get to experience shooting in the raw – along with 20-something of your newest friends! Styled shoots are all about working as a team together, sharing tips and growing together all while being submerged into a fairy-tale land of styled shoot heaven. Showit United styled shoots are incredibly elaborate this year – as it is our goal to give our attendees an experience that isn't easily done at home. Designer gowns, expertly designed florals, and all you have to do is show up and have fun and leave the clean up to us!
